Officially he’s Doug Roland, President and Owner of Steamatic Carpet Cleaners of Wichita Kansas, Inc., but around Wichita he’s better known as just “Doug” as in: “Call Doug for a Clean Rug”.

For nearly 43 years that simple little slogan has been Doug Roland’s trademark – first when he was selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door and since 1968 for his Steamatic cleaning franchise. With the help of his wife, Sharon, who is the Corporate Secretary, this two-person operation has grown into a large, successful 31-year-old corporation with 30 – 35 employees. Their sons Doug W., Darrel and Curtis, daughter-in-law Diane and grandson Brad have also been active in the organization.

Doug credits his success to excellent employees and service, hard work and a wonderful product, not his memorable slogan. “I will never be able to do what I want to do in this business. I want everybody to use Steamatic”. He recently adopted the following mission statement for his company: Using advanced technology, we are “Cleaning the World” one home or office at a time.

At National Steamatic Seminars, Steamatic of Wichita has received numerous Outstanding Contractor Awards. These awards would not have been possible without the support and efforts of the outstanding employees Steamatic of Wichita has retained.

Doug bought his first Steamatic franchise because he was impressed by the quality of the machine. Steamatic makes a world of difference. We sell the finest product money can buy, but the product is only as good as the people representing it. We have an extremely positive attitude in Wichita, and we are very humble and appreciative of our success.
